1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how CPIQ, LLC ("CPiQ," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use cpiq.ai and the CPiQ app (the "Service"). Because CPiQ is used during separation and divorce and often involves information about your children, we’ve tried to be specific below about exactly what we collect and who sees it.
2. Information We Collect
- •Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored securely, never in plain text).
- •Billing information: handled by Stripe; we receive your subscription status, not your full card number.
- •Content you submit: messages and drafts entered into the Message Analyzer or Composer/Rewriter, and Communication Log entries. This will often include information about your children, co-parent, and family circumstances.
- •Curriculum and certificate data: your progress through the coaching curriculum and any completion certificates issued to you.
- •Usage data: basic technical information such as device type, browser, and how you interact with the Service.
3. How We Use Information
- •To provide the Service — running your submitted messages through our AI analysis and rewrite tools, and maintaining your Communication Log and certificates.
- •To process payments and manage your subscription.
- •To communicate with you about your account, including service and billing notices.
- •To maintain the security and integrity of the Service, including rate-limiting to prevent abuse.
- •To improve the Service. We do not use the content of your private messages to train public or third-party AI models.
4. AI Processing
When you use the Message Analyzer or Composer/Rewriter, the text you submit is sent to Anthropic’s AI models for processing and a response is returned to you. Lesson audio narration sends CPiQ’s own lesson text — not your personal content — to OpenAI to generate speech, which is cached and reused rather than regenerated for every listener.
5. Who We Share Information With
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers below, as needed to run CPiQ:
- •Stripe — payment processing and billing.
- •Supabase — account authentication and our application database.
- •Anthropic — AI analysis for the Message Analyzer and Composer/Rewriter.
- •OpenAI — text-to-speech narration of CPiQ’s own lesson content.
- •Vercel — website hosting.
6. Data Retention
We keep your account information and Communication Log for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your general personal data within 30 days from our active systems and within 90 days from backups, except where we’re required to keep it longer (for example, billing records for tax purposes).
If your use of CPiQ is connected to an actual parenting-facilitation engagement, that data is retained for a minimum of seven (7) years, consistent with standard parenting-facilitation recordkeeping practice.
7. Data Security and Breach Notification
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and access controls on our database, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we’ll notify you as required under Texas Business & Commerce Code § 521.053.
8. Children’s Privacy
CPiQ is intended for adults (18 and older) and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Because CPiQ is used by co-parents, the content you submit will often reference your own minor children — that information is provided by you, as the account holder and a parent or guardian, and is handled as described in Section 2 above.
9. Your Privacy Choices
You may ask us to access, correct, delete, or provide a copy of your personal information by contacting us using the information in the Contact section below. We’ll respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first. (CPiQ currently qualifies as a small business under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, but we’re extending these choices to you regardless.)
10. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember basic preferences. We don’t currently use third-party advertising trackers.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll provide reasonable notice before they take effect.
